What is a large-format sintered stone slab
A slab (also called sintered stone) is a large-format panel made from natural inorganic raw materials such as quartz, feldspar and clay, pressed under thousands of tonnes of force and fired in a kiln at about 1,200°C. Water absorption is typically ≤0.1% (near-zero porosity), and it is abrasion-, heat- and acid-resistant, fireproof, easy to clean and food-safe. Common thicknesses are 3mm, 6mm and 12mm, suitable for countertops, walls, floors, furniture surfaces and building façades.
